Hey everybody!
Grade 3, 4 and 5 are back with another edition of The Fun Times!
Sorry, we couldn’t write to you in a while because we were busy doing a lot of other things. In reality, Anvita had sent the content for this newsletter to Ryan Sir way back in January, but he just did not put it out. So please reply to this mail if you want to know why he did not do it for so long. Hmph! :\
Alright, let’s get started!
First up, we have Anvita with her video about cups and clapping! Watch the video and see if you can do it as fast as she does!
Next, we have a drawing by Vivaan. In his own words:
It depicts how dianosours got extinct from the earth. There are volcanoes erupting which made the earth environment very warm because of which dianosours could no longer survive on the earth.
Next up, we have Samratt playing the guitar for us. Do you like Maroon 5? Watch this if you do!
Now, Kiran gives us instructions to make a working model of a motor boat.
The materials needed are:
Foam / Thermocol Sheet
Double sided tape
Battery
Battery holder
Toy motor attached with a switch and two wires
Plastic propellor
Instructions:
1. Cut the base of the boat using foam sheet (refer to the picture)
2. Cut rectangular strips (6 numbers) for the sides of the boat approximately 1.5 cm wide according to the base.
3. Cut rectangular strips with an angle according to the base of the boat for the front end.
4. Cut rectangle pieces (4 numbers) for the back end of the boat and a gap in the boat so that the motor can be kept at the back.
5. Stack and stick all the strips of foam sheets and attach to the base as shown in the pitcure.
6. Take the motor and stick it inbetween the gap at the back of the boat, then attach the wires and battery box as shown in the picture. It will be better not to put the battery holder on the boat because of water as it can cause short circuit.
7. Turn the boat on when its ready and leave in the tray of water.
Cool! Let us know how you go if you try it.
Next, we have Tanisi, who has made a video about her new Pup Rocky. You can watch the video here.
Surbhi has made a drawing for this newsletter. It is inspired by Peep and the Big Wide World.
Kiesha has been doing stitching, and she has made Easy Peasy Dolly Polly, using cotton and a sock!
We want you to know that creating this newsletter took a long time, but it was worth it since we had a lot of fun. We hope you enjoyed this newsletter, and if you did, please let us know in the comments what you liked best.
This is the second last newsletter for this academic year, so please do subscribe and stay tuned for more newsletters in the future!
